I have been following this story for a while and it looks like it finally came to some conclusion. To me it is amazing that some 65 years since WWII there is still fights over the ownership of major and minor artworks. See the new story here @ Artnewspaper

Currently showing at Packer Schopf Gallery is a group show with really one stand out artist and that is Catherine Jacobi. I really got a kick out of her use of materials. Here is what she has to say about her work:

MAKING - HISTORIES AND FORM

The histories of objects are platforms from which I start a piece – considering a narrative that has already existed and one that I will have imagined existed. The novelty of form is that it leads you to believe it will endur. Look at a body, my body — immortality it seems is mortal.

I highly recommend going and seeing this show just for her work.

Art Related Books

Still one of the best art related books I have ever read. It came to mind the other day when I was talking about Vegas and how essentially American it is. Vegas also reminds me of Jean Baudrillard and his book "America". Get out a read these two.
